Course Summary
The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is a qualification which prepares students for study at degree level. If you would like to go to university and don’t have the necessary qualifications, then an Access to HE course could be for you. This course is for those interested in a career in the event management and tourism industry.
Course Details
You will study the following units:
•Management of customer experience
•Marketing hospitality and tourism
•Introduction to management and leadership
•Travel geography
•E-business
•People in organisations
•Hospitality and tourism research project
•Teamwork and leadership
•HE study skills
•Introduction to the hospitality and tourism industry
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment will occur continually throughout the programme. You will have unit assignments to complete and will be assessed on your practical ability. You will also have time-constrained assignments, as well as oral presentations. Each individual unit and the full award are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Entry requirements
•A keen interest and willingness to be involved in event management and tourism
•GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above. Equivalent qualifications will be accepted
•You will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Services check
