Course Summary

This course is a practical and fun introduction to working in a modern recording studio. It is suitable for anyone with an interest in audio and music production, either as a performer, sound engineer or producer. You will work in small groups and individually to record, edit and mix audio; supported by our knowledgeable, friendly staff.

Course Details

You will be shown, over an 8-Week period, a variety of production techniques to recording, edit and mix audio.

This will include an introduction to our industry standard, ProTools based, digital recording studios and related music equipment. You will cover:

Session setup

Connections

Signal levels

Microphones

Multitrack recording

Overdubbing

Editing

Processing

Mix down

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This course is not formally assessed.

Entry requirements

This course is aimed at beginners. A general interest in music and production is recommended.

All equipment will be provided.
