Course Summary

The Level 2 Award In Aspects of Preparing to Set Up a New Business allows learners a flexible approach to learning about, and preparing for, self employment. It is designed for those who think they may wish to start a business at some time in the future and want to complete a short programme of preparatory learning about the key aspects of this activity, without actually starting a business.

In order to achieve this qualification the learner must complete the 1 mandatory unit and 6 credits from the optional units listed below.

•Understand How to Plan for a New Business

•Understanding Business Relationships in a New Business

•Principles of Marketing and Selling in a New Business

•Understanding Finance in a Business Context

You will be assessed by participating in activities that simulate setting up and establishing a business.

Entry requirements

•There are no formal entry requirements, however, you should have a good level of communication skills.

•An interest or intention to set up a business would also be desirable
