Course Summary

Whether you are a budding photographer or fancy a career change, photography can be an exciting way of expressing your creativity. Our digital photography course will enable you to capture those special moments using a variety of techniques from the basics of using a digital camera to photo manipulation using Photoshop.

Course Details

You will be shown over a 10-week period a variety of techniques and a basic introduction to digital photography, which will enable you to improve and develop your skills in producing digital photographs. This will include an introduction to digital cameras and their functions, aperture settings, shutter speeds and manipulation of images with basic Photoshop techniques.

You will also develop your skills with wide-angle photography, night-time photography, portraits, landscapes and wild life photography. You will cover:

•Aperture

•ISO

•Focusing

•Metering

•Downloading Images to computer

•Basic editing images (straightening, cropping, cloning, editing out imperfections)

•Creating bokeh

Entry requirements

A general interest in digital photography, this course is suitable for beginners.

Equipment required

There is equipment available at the college, you do not need your own camera etc. BUT you will get a lot more out of the course using your own equipment even if its a point and shoot camera.

After completion of the beginners course there may be the opportunity to enrol onto an advanced digital photography course (10 weeks).
