Course Summary
ESOL Skills for Life qualifications support speakers of other languages based within the UK to develop their English language skills for work, further learning or everyday life.
These qualifications are for anyone based in the UK needing to improve their understanding and use of written or spoken English. This might be to help get on at work (or get a job), prepare for further study, access public services, or just to function more effectively in an English-speaking environment

Once you have had your assessment and are waiting for an ESOL class, you can come along to one of our FREE workshops to help improve your English in the meantime.
Assessments and enrolment will take place on Mondays between 1pm and 7pm. (term time only) Please come to the Old Mill Lane site reception
Course Details
ESOL learners will develop and improve their language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
They will encounter topics which are both familiar and relevant to them. Topics include:
•personal details/experiences
•work
•education/training
•housing
•family and friends
•health
•transport
•weather
•buying goods
•leisure
•UK society
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is by examination and continuous assessment. Learners have regular meetings with a tutor to discuss progress and to help plan studies.
Entry requirements
•There are no formal entry requirements or previous experience needed to join this course.
•Before you start a class you need to do an assessment to find your level.
•You should be aged 19 or over to attend this course.
