Course Summary
This well-established qualification is recognised by the industry as demonstrating the technical capability to work in the land-based technology and agricultural engineering sectors.
Course Details
Course themes include service and repair of various types of land-based equipment, applying mechanical principles, material preparation - including shaping and assembling as well as fabrication and welding, maintenance of tools and equipment, thermal joining and cutting processes and aspects of land-based machinery operation. You will get to work on a wide range of agricultural and industial machinery as well as off road vehicles, gaining skills relevant to working in an industry setting. You will achieve a qualification which is equivalent to 4 GCSEs.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Courses are a mixture of theory and practical work.
Assessments are both pratical and written assignments.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above to include two from English, Maths and Science, with at least a grade 2 in the remaining subject. Alternatively, a suitable Level 1 vocational qualification with English and Maths at Level 1.

After successful completion of this course you may be able to progress to the Level 3 Land-Based Technology course, into an Apprenticeship or into employment.
