This course is aimed at for executive or operational managers at a senior level within an organisation.

Course Details

The course is ideal for managers seeking to develop the skills they need to be a confident and effective leader at this level, and understand the principles and practice of strategic leadership. There is a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding. Study methods will include lectures, individual and group work, discussion, problem-solving and case studies.

You will study the following:

Developing Strategic Management and Leadership Skills

Professional Development for Strategic Managers

Strategic Change Management

Strategic Human Resource Management

Managing Financial Principles and Techniques

Strategic Planning

How will it be delivered and assessed?

A range of appropriate assessment methods will be used, examples of which are: work related written assignments (typically 5000 words max), presentations (individual and group) and personal reflection. Guidance will be given throughout the programme to assist you.

Entry requirements

A degree or HNC or HND in a relevant subject (Business or Management) or a BTEC Level 5 or Level 6 short course (or equivalent) in a related subject (Business or Management)

And/or

Relevant work experience

A good standard of literacy and numeracy are essential (GCSE Maths and English A to C Grade as a minimum are desirable)

Sucessful interview. The purpose of this interview is to review the entry profile of qualifications and/or experience held by you to establish whether your profile shows the ability to successfully complete the programme of study

Equipment required

You will be required to provide paper, writing materials, A4 ring binder file, extra wide dividers.

Your next steps...

A number of students who have successfully completed the programme have subsequently continued their studies and achieved Masters level qualifications. Entry onto these qualifications is subject to each individual university entry requirements, for their Masters programmes.
