Course Summary

Of the 700,000 people in the UK diagnosed with some form of autism in the UK, 70% of adults claim they do not receive any help in coping with their diagnosis.

As a result, feelings of isolation are common and one in three adults experience severe and ongoing mental health issues.

This level 3 certificate in Understanding Autism will allow you to develop a comprehensive understanding of autism in its many forms. You will learn how to adopt a positive approach to supporting individuals with autism and the different theories behind these approaches.

• Understand best practice in the context of Autism

• Legislation, guidance, information and support relevant to Autism

• Autism and behaviour

• Living with Autism in society

You will be assessed through a range of assessment methods, including short answer questions and longer essay style questions.
