Course Summary

Healthcare support staff can work in different areas in patient care and treatment within both the public and private care facilities. The role of the support staff is to provide assistance to healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating and caring for patients. The Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in a range of healthcare support settings.

• Promoting equality and inclusion in care settings

• Person-centred practice, choice, and independence

• Study skills support for Senior Healthcare Workers

• Communicate with individuals about health promotion and wellbeing

• Maintain quality standards in the health sector

• Service improvement within the health sector

• Providing support to manage pain and discomfort

• Assist in monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions

• Undertake physiological measurements in care settings

• Administer medication to individuals and monitor the effects

• Supporting positive behaviour

• Support positive risk taking for individuals

• Select and wear appropriate personal protective equipment for work in healthcare settings

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed through a range of assessment methods, including short answer questions and longer essay style questions.
