Course Summary
This course is suitable for all those who work supporting the development of children aged 0-5 and wish to develop their professional practice. You will develop your understanding of how best to create and maintain positive conditions that support young children’s learning and development, by critically investigating and evaluating the theories, knowledge, policies and legislation that underpin current good practice. In addition you will develop academic skills that will improve your work performance and your career opportunities.
Course Details
On this course you will study a range of modules which may include the following:
Creating an Enabling Environment for Young Children
Communication and Language (Families) Working with Families or
Working with 21st Century Children
Inclusivity and Diversity or Introduction to SEN and Disability
Play and Early Learning
Assessments and Interventions
Research-Informed Practice in the Early Years
Developing Social and Emotional Resilience
Leading and Managing or Developing Literacy
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is through a mixture of reports, essays, presentations etc.
Entry requirements
A Level 2 Literacy qualification e.g. GCSE English Language Grade C/4, Functional Skills Level 2 or Adult Literacy Level 2.
A Level 3 qualification e.g. A level, BTEC National, NVQ 3 and at least one year’s volunteering/working experience.
You will also require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
