Are you applying to study A Level Mathematics and keen to deepen your knowledge and understanding of this topic? Do you have a genuine love and passion for Mathematics as a subject, and want to benefit from being able to study this as a fourth qualification? Then A Level Further Mathematics could be for you!
You can opt to study this qualification as both a full A Level and as an AS Level (fourth option only).

Course Details

Students studying this subject will explore new and ever more sophisticated concepts. Topics will include:

• Algorithms and computational maths

• Algebraic proof

• Complex numbers

• Matrices

• Summation of series

• Vector geometry

• Differential equations

Our teachers are subject specialists and experts in their field – many of our staff hold masters and PhDs in their field. In addition to an outstanding experience in the classroom, you can expect a range of trips, visits and inspiring guest speakers. Students have enjoyed experiences such as the opportunity to take part in the Senior Maths Challenge and Cipher Challenge. We offer exceptional support too – our onsite Maths GYM is a chance to join teachers for bespoke help and advice. Our A Level Further Mathematicians benefit from a wide range of opportunities and concepts within the course, taking your mathematical aptitude to a higher level

Assessment is 100% examination.

Entry requirements

Grade 7 in GCSE Maths. Recommended as a 4th A level subject, but if applying for this subject as part of a 3 A level programme, your interviewer will discuss this further with you, including evaluating your overall GCSE profile. General entry criteria will also apply, this is available on our website.

There is a huge demand for Mathematicians, as demand for STEM experts is skyrocketing. There are of course many related fields at university, and our students commonly pursue degrees in areas such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science and Engineering.
