Course Summary
Our BTEC Level 2 Information and Creative Technology course is a yearlong, full time study programme. You will gain a nationally recognised qualification that opens up opportunity to progress to Level 3 study programmes or at a junior level in the IT sector.
If you’re looking for a nationally recognised qualification developed by the IT sector, for the IT sector, then this course is for you! Our Level 2 qualification is an ideal stepping stone to a career in the industry, and offers the chance to progress to our range of Level 3 qualifications.
Course Details
The topics you study will help you to develop a range of practical skills that develop you for your next step into industry or higher level qualifications. Topics include:
• Computer networks
• Website development
• Software development
• Installing and maintaining computer hardware
Our enthusiastic and dedicated staff will help you to develop practical IT skills and prepare you for your next steps. This is a highly interactive course, and you will benefit from the input of visiting industry speakers and events such as our IMPACT event, where you will showcase your skills to our visiting experts.
All of our students are encouraged to prepare for their future success by undertaking additional qualifications such as Microsoft Office Specialist.
Through your experience of practical activities and theory you will develop your self-confidence and communication skills. Group work, role plays and presentations will offer you the chance to develop as a student and prepare you for your next step.

Assessment is via presentations, group work and assignments and externally assessed exams
