BTEC National Extended Certificate in Applied Psychology

This course is suitable for 16-19 year olds who are interested in studying psychology, as applied to vocational settings. It combines theory and research, giving learners the opportunity to develop a board understanding of human behaviour and the applications of psychology within society.

The course covers key approaches in research and how psychology can be applied to understand gender, business, aggression and mental health.

The course is assessed with 2 exams and two internally assessed pieces of coursework. There will be one exam and one coursework unit, per year.

A minimum of 5 grade 4s, including maths, science and English language.

There are a wide range of possible employment opportunities including health, criminal justice, business / marketing and other fields requiring knowledge of human behaviour. The course also perfectly prepares learners for future study of university either in psychology or a related field.
