Course Summary

As a Plumber you could work on installing or maintaining heating systems, fitting domestic appliances, or fitting bathrooms and emergency repairs. You could also work with gas fires and cookers. If you want a varied job that makes good use of your practical skills and takes you out and about, this could be perfect for you. You will need to be good at solving problems, have the ability to follow technical plans, and understand the importance of health and safety. You will also need good customer care skills.

If you do not have an apprenticeship, you can do our Level 2 full time courses in Plumbing. This will equip you with many of the skills needed for the job and will help you when applying for an apprenticeship. This will take you 1-2 years. Afterwards, to become a fully qualified plumber, you would need to do an apprenticeship for the level 3, which can take up to to two years.
