Course Summary
V Levels are new Level 3 qualifications that provide a vocational route for students who wish to explore a broad career sector before choosing a specific area of specialisation. Designed to sit alongside A Levels and T Levels, they will help simplify post-16 study options while offering greater flexibility and choice.
Equivalent in size to one A Level, V Levels can be combined with other Level 3 qualifications, allowing students to create a tailored study programme that aligns with their interests, strengths and future career aspirations. With a strong emphasis on careers education and occupational standards, V Levels are designed to develop both sector-specific knowledge and the skills valued by employers and higher education providers.
Throughout the course, a variety of engaging and interactive learning methods will be used to develop your understanding of education and how people learn. Lessons will explore key topics such as child development, the role of educators, learning theories and the influence of different environments on educational outcomes.
You will take part in discussions, independent research, practical activities and the analysis of real-life case studies, enabling you to apply your learning to authentic educational contexts. The course encourages collaboration, critical thinking and reflection on current issues within education. Students will also benefit from opportunities to observe educational practice, examine professional case studies and hear directly from professionals working within education and childcare settings, helping to bring classroom learning to life and strengthen career-related understanding.
