Course Summary
This course provides learners with the opportunity to study Christianity's themes, sacred scripture and religious figures, fundamental philosophical and ethical themes.
Course Details
One third of this course provides learners with the opportunity to undertake an in-depth study of Christianity; sacred scripture and religious figures and how these shape religious identity. The second third of the course allows learners to have a broad study of fundamental philosophical themes ranging from arguments for the existence of God and the use of religious language. The final third of the course provides learners with the opportunity to study fundamental ethical themes, including ethical language, freewill and determinism. Topics studied include: Christianity/Philosophy/Ethics
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be taught in classroom sessions using a wide range of teaching and learning methods. There will be three exams which are 2 hours each which you will complete at the end of Year 13. (Christianity, Philosophy, Ethics all worth 33.3% each).
Entry requirements
5 good GCSEs, including a good grade 4/5 at GCSE English Language. It’s strongly recommended that you have a grade 5 in English.
