This programme is designed to equip learners with the knowledge required at all levels to start your career in Hairdressing. It offers an exciting range of units for you to study in our modern well-equipped salons, supported by our team of highly skilled, highly qualified tutors. This course will assist learners with confidence, communication skills and prepare them for working life.

Course Details
This study programme will cover a range of the topics and units at each level, some of which are listed below, including Health and Safety at all levels:
Level 2 Diploma Women's Hairdressing
• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
• Blow dry and style the hair
• Cutting
• Colour and lighten hair
• Style hair with electrical equipment
Level 2 Technical Certificate Cutting & Styling Services (Year 1)
• Principles and practices of hairdressing and barbering services
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Cut hair using basic techniques
• Style set and dress hair
• Plait and twist hair
Level 2 Technical Certificate Hair Colouring Services (Year 2)
• Principles and practices of hairdressing and barbering services
• Colour and Lighten
• Styling and Finishing services
• Perm & Neutralise hair
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Level 2 Diploma- Practical assessment through observation of skills and oral questioning. Will need to produce a portfolio, undergo continual practical assessments, and complete continual online written testing for each unit.
Level 2 Technical certificate- Ongoing formative practical assessment. One external theory examination and one final synoptic practical assessment.

Level 2 Diploma Womens Hairdressing
5 GCSEs at grade 9-3
OR
Level 1 Hair & Beauty GCSE English and maths at grade 3
Level 2 Technical Certificate Cutting & Styling Services
5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English or maths
OR
Relevant Level 2 Diploma plus GCSE English and maths at grade 4
