Health and Social Care Level 2 Full-time (FHSC)

This Level 2 course runs 12 hours a week and gives you the skills, knowledge and understanding for a job in the industry.

You’ll do at least 120 hours of work experience, and learn through practical exercises, group work, and discussions. It’s great for moving on to Level 3 studies or starting a trainee job.

You will be continually assessed on this programme through a wide variety of course work, which may take several forms e.g. posters, leaflets, a report or an assignment. You will need to complete and achieve a minimum of a D grade for all your assignment work, this includes attending your work experience and successfully passing all your units to be awarded the NCFE CACHE Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will need a minimum of a 47/C grade and GCSE English grade 4 to progress into Level 3.

On completion of this programme, you could progress onto the Level 3 Health and Social Care or into a range of job roles within the health and social care sector such as:

Care Support Workers in Adult Residential Settings

Healthcare Assistants in Community, Primary Care and Acute Health Environments

Care Support Workers in Domiciliary Services, Supported Living or Day Services

Community-Based Support Workers.
