Course Summary

If you’ve got a passion for performance and want to broaden your skills, develop current musicianship and performing arts skills and career opportunities through practical learning, then the UAL Level 1 programme is right for you.

The Level 1 Diploma in Music, Performing and Production Arts has been designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to further study and training in a range of music performance and production disciplines.

The qualification is recognised as providing students with opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to progress to further education and training within the music, production, and creative industries.

You will learn through classroom based and practical work. You will have the opportunity to work in our specialist studios and theatres.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You’ll be assessed through performances, practical and theoretical based project work in the music industry /performing arts.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at Grade 9-1 including English and Maths.

However, you will be required to have a satisfactory interview/audition.

For Interview

All interviewees to have joint warm up. Casual loose clothing should be worn, please no jeans, skirts dresses or tights and be prepared to take shoes and socks off. When you attend interview at our Waterton Building, Wood Street, Wakefield, WF1 2EW please bring along your latest school report, your predicted grades and for your audition a monologue performance (monologue piece provided at audition).

Further study

On completion with the appropriate pass and English and maths grades you can progress through the levels.
