Course Summary
If you’ve got a passion for music and want to broaden your skills, develop current musicianship skills and career opportunities through practical learning, then the Rockschool music study programme is right for you.
You will develop your music performance and musicianship skills, gain knowledge of how the current music industry works and learn how to develop compositional skills both in groups and independently. Additionally, you will work as an active member of a band working towards a range of performances in internal and external music venues. As part of all the courses you will develop
your confidence, team working skills, independent study, creativity in writing and performing and showmanship.
Rockschool is the leading accredited provider of rock exams worldwide. Their Vocational Qualifications are taught the world over and are renowned for their practicality, flexibility and creativity. Inspired by the legends of rock, their qualifications are created with you, the musician in mind.
For the Level 3 Music Performance an active interest in the subject and the ability to play an instrument is essential.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
You’ll be assessed through performances, practical and theoretical based project work in the music industry/performing arts depending on the course level.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade 9-4, including English or Maths and a Grade 3 in either English or Maths.
OR
4 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 including English or Maths and a Level 2 in either English or Maths.
OR
Successful completion of Level 2 at Merit Grade and GCSE English or Maths at Grade 4 and Level 2 English or Maths.
PLUS
Satisfactory interview/audition for all options above.
For Interview
Please prepare two contrasting pieces of music on your chosen instrument. Amps, keyboards and drum kits will be supplied but please bring your own chosen instrument. Please reply to the admissions@heartofyorkshire.ac.uk email stating which instrument you play. When you attend your interview, please bring along your latest school report, and your predicted grades.
