Course Summary
A Level Physical Education gives students the opportunity to progress onto University courses such BSc Sport and Exercise Science, BA Physical Education and BSc Sports Coaching. It can also allow students to move onto sport and physical activity-related apprenticeships or employment in the sports industry .

Course Details
2 theory based exam papers. Paper 1 is studied in year 12 and covers Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Skill Acquisition and Sport and Society. Paper 2 is covered in year 13 and entails Exercise Physiology and biomechanics, Sport Psychology and Sport, Society and Technology. The 2 papers are equally weighted and worth 35% each.
The practical element of the course is 15% practical performance in one sport plus an additional 15% for written coursework based on the practical performance.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
70% Examination. 30% Non-Examined Assessment.

Min GCSE grade 5 in PE, plus 4 other GCSE's grades 4-9
