Course Summary

This exciting, all-round Performing Arts course provides students with versatility in

terms of their skill set, creative approach and awareness of the Arts. Musical Theatre

is the key genre studied on this pathway with graduates progressing to leading roles

in the West End, Hollywood film and British TV. However, students gain the breadth and

depth of experience to progress into other specialist areas from contemporary dance to

music production, choreography to directing.


We offer three exciting Musical Theatre tracks. All offer equally robust Performing Arts training,

however the qualification package differs to suit individual learners. Students will gain the following

qualifications (equivalent to 4 A Levels):

• Track X: A Level Dance and UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts

• Track Y: A Level Dance, A Level Drama and UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts

• Track Z: A Level Drama and UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts

Entry requirements

Entry to CAPA College requires a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/level 4 or above, to be confirmed in writing by the applicant’s current school on enrolment day. This needs to include grades C or Level 4 and above in GCSE English and GCSE Maths. In exceptional circumstances a student with a D grade or Level 3 in either GCSE English or GCSE Maths (but not both) may be accepted. Arts specific qualifications and/or previous formal experience are not necessarily required to successfully gain a place at CAPA College.

Instead, in the application process each applicant will be looked at closely for evidence of passion, aptitude and the potential to make the most of their time with CAPA College.

CAPA College provides students with intensive full-time practical training alongside the rigour of academic Arts study. This combination of professional training and academia ensures that students develop the skills, training, experience, knowledge, understanding and qualifications to progress to higher education. This training is an excellent platform for students to progress on to studying at vocational Arts conservatoires or universities or go straight into Arts based employment.
