Course Summary
The study programme will prepare you for a career as a chef in a professional kitchen and will make you highly employable.
During this qualification you will work with local employers on structured work placement, within this offer there will be an opportunity for learners to attend a residential trip abroad and for some students to attend a work placement in the 5* Hilton Hotel Malta.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence that can include observations, assignments, practical tests, written tests, oral questions, witness statements and case studies.
Entry requirements
Level 1 Diploma
3 GCSE's at any level, E3 in English if you are a progressing student
Level 2 Certificate
Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade 9-3
OR
Level 1 qualification in Hospitality and Level 1 in either English or maths
Level 2 Diploma
Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade 9-3
OR
Level 1 qualification in Hospitality and Level 1 in either English or maths for progressing students.
Level 3 (Advanced Professional Cookery Kitchen & Larder)
4 GCSEs at grade 9-3 AND Level 2 Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Skills or equivalent plus English or maths at grade 3
Level 3 (Advanced Professional Cookery Patisserie & Confectionary)
4 GCSEs at grade 9-3 AND Level 2 Certificate/Diploma in Patiserrie and Confectionary or Culinary Skills plus GCSE English or maths at grade 3
Level 3 (Food & Beverage Service Supervision)
4 GCSEs at grade 9-3 AND Level 2 Certificate/Diploma in Food and Beverage Service plus GCSE English or maths at Grade 3
