Course Summary

The apprenticeship is aimed at individuals who want to gain skills in this industry. Some of the wider skills developed through this Apprenticeship. For example, are risk assessments, PPE, COSHH and safe systems of work. You will develop skills in handling of products, using a range of equipment and machinery. You will develop communication skills, problem solving skills and team leader skills.

This is a work-based Apprenticeship, you will learn through on and off the job activities. Meeting regularly with your appointed assessor to gain knowledge and demonstrate skills and behaviours.


Course Details

This Apprenticeship covers KSB (knowledge (know it) skills (show it) & behaviours (live it).

The above will be shown through evidence collected and produced by you. The KSB are embedded into Duties:

There are 13 duties in total. And each duty maps directly to a KSB.

Example of duties include:

  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensure that prior to dispatch, all goods are inspected for damage
  • Move and store goods safely, securely and efficiently
  • Support delivery operatives in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of goods


How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed using the following methods: Professional discussion, observation, producing work-based evidence, witness testimonies, written assignments.

  • Final EPA (End Point Assessment)
  • At the end of any apprenticeship is an EPA. This EPA as 2 components
  • First component is an interview underpinned by portfolio of evidence
  • Second component is an observation followed by questions

Entry requirements

Apprentices without Level 1 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment.

For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the Apprenticeship’s English and Maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL.
