Course Summary
Intended for HR professionals, whether new to the field or already working in a HR role, this apprenticeship equips successful learners with a firm foundation in all aspects of the People Profession. It focuses on developing knowledge, skills and behaviours within the people profession that enables the apprentice to confidently provide front line HR support to managers and employees, handle day-to-day queries, offer advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures, and manage various HR processes from recruitment to retirement. Additionally, it covers the use of HR systems to maintain employee records and generate meaningful HR reports that aid in business and HR decision making.
Course Details
As part of the apprenticeship you will attend weekly classes studying the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, covering the following topics:
Business, culture and change in context
Principles of analytics
Core behaviours for people professionals
Essentials of people practice
You will also develop extensive knowledge of your organisations HR policies and procedures, including employment legislation underpinning these.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Attendance is key. You will be required to attend remotely taught sessions for the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice.
You are also need to regularly meet with your apprenticeship assessor (either remotely or in your place of work) for progress reviews and workplace assessments.
If you are undertaking Functional Skills as part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to attend Castleford Campus for a week block of teaching, per Functional Skill subject. This will be discussed at your enrolment and induction.
Entry requirements
Level 3 apprentices are expected to be employed in a HR role to ensure they have the appropriate foundation and workplace support to further develop their knowledge and skills
Certificate evidence of English and Maths at Level 2 or GCSEs at Grade 9-4.
If you do not have these, we can help you develop your English and Maths skills through Functional Skills courses and one-to-one support. Most employers value proficiency in these areas, and many university courses require English and Maths GCSEs at Grade 9-4 which is why improving these skills is crucial, regardless of your field of study.
