Course Summary
Bring ideas to life and discover how creative work reaches an audience. At Outwood Academy Hemsworth, this two-year Level 3 T Level combines an understanding of the media and creative industries with practical learning and experience in the workplace. You will explore how creative teams research ideas, respond to briefs and organise production, while developing communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Equivalent in size to three A levels, the course can support your next step into employment, an apprenticeship or related higher education.
Course Details
You will explore the creative economy and the roles people play within media, broadcast and production. Core topics include audiences and consumer needs; cultural context and creative vocabulary; research; project planning and administration; professional standards; equality, diversity and inclusion; legal and regulatory requirements; and continuing professional development. Through taught sessions, practical activities and project work, you will develop ideas, respond to briefs, work collaboratively and evaluate outcomes. Occupational specialist learning develops the technical skills relevant to the pathway offered by the academy. An industry placement of at least 315 hours, approximately 45 days, gives you opportunities to apply your learning and understand professional working practices.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment combines externally assessed core examinations, an employer-set project and practical assessments in the chosen occupational specialism. These assess your knowledge and your ability to apply creative, technical and professional skills to industry-related tasks. You must also complete the required industry placement to achieve the full T Level.
